Joint Training Exercise with Scottish Fire and Rescue on the River Nith

On Sunday 13th April, Nith Inshore Rescue took part in a joint training exercise on the River Nith alongside our colleagues from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. The scenario involved two missing persons, with Search Dog Tam also deployed to assist in the search efforts. Both casualties were successfully located, with one requiring stretcher extraction and boat transfer back to the designated rendezvous point (RVP). The exercise was a valuable opportunity to practise our inter-agency coordination and refine our response techniques in realistic conditions.

This is just one example of the many strong working relationships we maintain with our partner agencies. Joint training like this ensures we are prepared to respond swiftly and effectively in real incidents, with a clear understanding of how to work seamlessly alongside other emergency services. We’re proud to play our part in keeping our community safe through teamwork, training, and trust.
