We maintain a crew of 15-20, most of us local people with a good knowledge of the River Nith, its banks and tides. An average of ten crew attend each call-out.
All are volunteers, fitting lifeboat training and call-outs around their day jobs and home lives. When not on the boat, our crew have a wide range of occupations such as joiner, ex police officer, civil servant and gamekeeper, to name but a few.
Being a member of Nith Inshore Rescue takes up a lot of time. Read about the training here.
